Morris Material Handling partners with U.S. Army in Recruiting Program

MILWAUKEE, WI (February 15, 2008) – Representatives of the U.S. Army Recruiting Command and Morris Material Handling signed an agreement February 14, 2008 to provide priority hiring status to qualified Soldiers participating in the Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS) Program.02_signing.jpg

“The U.S. Army is excited to add Morris Material Handling to its team of corporate partners in the Partnership for Youth Success program,” said Brigadier General Dave Mann, USAREC Deputy Commanding General (East). “We are proud of our partnerships like this that enable our recruiters to offer applicants quality employment opportunities during and after their Army service.”

Brigadier General Mann signed the agreement with Fabio Fiorino, President of Morris Material Handling, during a ceremony at the Morris Material plant in Windsor, Wisconsin.

“Participating in the PaYS program gives us the opportunity to hire employees who have excellent training, the highest military values, experience and proven leadership skills,” explained Fiorino. “In addition, we are honored to be able to support the men and women in uniform and in a small way thank them for their sacrifice. Without the freedom that they help protect, private enterprise could not exist.”

PaYS is a strategic partnership program between the Army and a cross section of U.S. corporations and public sector agencies. Morris Material Handling is the 27th Wisconsin based company to join the PaYS program.

PaYS was developed to help the Army attract, train and deploy talented young people who want to serve their country, and also want to help secure their future success once their Army service is complete.

Four men who recently retired from the armed forces and were recently hired by Morris, were honored in conjunction with the ceremony. Also honored were employees who have a family member currently serving in the military and employees who are veterans of the military.03_Vets.jpg

Under terms of the agreement between USAREC and Morris Material Handling, enlistees interested in gaining specific job training and qualifications will receive that training while in the U.S. Army. As part of the enlistment process, recruits receive a statement of understanding of intent to work for Morris Material Handling upon completion of their term of service. As they near the end of their enlistments, the Soldiers will have the opportunity to interview with Morris Material Handling for a specific job at a specific location.
